2008 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo

Seven prefessional rodeo athletes that call Wyoming home made the "Cowboy State" proud last week as they competed in the superbowl of rodeos - the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Representing Gillette Wyoming was saddle bronc rider Chet Johnson and bull rider Bobby Welsh; coming from Powell was bull rider Kanin Asay. We also had two steer wrestlers - Jason Miller from Lance Creek and Les Shepperson of Midwest. Kelly Timberman from Mills rode bareback and bull rider Seth Glause out of Rock Springs completed Team Wyoming for a record number of athletes at the NFR.

Wyoming's talented video program manager Mike McCrimmon delved into the national finals day tapes to find all the best action and combined it with music from the new AC/DC – CD “Black Ice.” We used the song War Machine and I think you’ll agree it suits well with what these athletes are put through over the ten grueling days that wrapped up the 50th anniversarry event last weekend.
