#frifotos: Gold Panning
We are all about winter right now, but we certainly can't miss out on this gold #frifotos opportunity. Gold, you say. Yes, Wyoming has a history with gold.
South Pass City in Wyoming was home to thousands of gold miners in the 1860s--one of the most populated areas in Wyoming at that time. The boom died down and the population slowly dwindled until eventually South Pass City became much of a ghost town.
Today it is a state historical site. Panning for gold is still done today. To find out more about South Pass City and panning for gold click here. Make sure you plan visiting South Pass City this summer and maybe you'll have your chance at panning for gold.
